WE ARE A CHURCH COMMITTED TO THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST!

GOD is using Wallace Street Church to do tremendous things for His Kingdom. A wide range of ministries reach out into the community, touching lives for Christ.

Both of our Pastors are concerned about the physical and spiritual needs of both our Church and community, with a deep personal concern for the youth and young families in our area.

You are always welcome at Wallace Street! Our friendly congregation demonstrates God's love for all people. Our Church is deeply concerned that all people have the opportunity to hear the salvation message of Jesus Christ and to grow and enrich their faith. The purpose of our ministry is to fulfill these two objectives.

If you have not yet visited us, please plan to worship with us Sunday.

WALLACE STREET OUTREACH MINISTRIES

GENTLE SHEPHERD PRESCHOOL – For nearly 40 years Wallace Street Church operated a Christian Pre-School, to benefit children of church members and children of the community with early academics, socialization, and presentation of the Gospel.  The ministry was ended in August of 2018, due to lack of registrations in the program, and it’s becoming economically inviable to continue.

Currently Wallace Street Evangelical Church is seeking a Youth Director.

Please visit our [Youth] page for more details.

THE BRIDGE MINISTRY – This ministry of Wallace Street Evangelical Church seeks to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless in our city and community. The Bridge was born out of a mother’s prayer to find her son David, and help him with his addiction.  She prayed to God and He led her to a bridge in the streets of Indianapolis.  As she was searching the faces of people lying bundled up in blankets she saw the face of her son, and a fellow homeless man told him “Please go with your Mother, you have family that cares for you, it’s not too late for you.”  The Bridge ministry is for all those out there without praying mothers or family that have lost touch with their loved ones and live under a bridge in your community.  We seek to provide clothing and hygiene essentials as well as hope in and through Jesus Christ to these people.  The team desires to become a bridge between the homelessness and hopefulness.  If you can provide items, or better yet if you can join the team and reach out in person to these people, please contact Nancy or Paul Ferguson (317) 982-7796 or Mary Stevens (317) 640-6649, for details of this outreach.  Even if you can’t help in those ways, please pray that we may bring hope to many of the hopeless in this situation.

FOOD PANTRY AND NEEDY MINISTRY - Reaching our community with physical necessities, but also with a verbal witness of Jesus Christ being the real answer to our needs. The pantry is available Monday and Friday from 9:30 – 11:00 am.  Please come to the cellar door facing 10th Street during those hours if you have a food need.  We distribute non-perishable foods – no cash.

CHILDREN'S VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – A fun morning of music, crafts, games, snacks and Bible study held for one week in the summer.

After missing a year (due to Covid-19) our Vacation Bible School was back in action for 2021.
This year more than $1200.00 was raised to send International Missions Board Missionaries into Sub-Saharan Aftica with the Gospel

PRAYER CHAIN – There is an e-mail prayer chain that prays for the needs of our church body.  A prayer group meets to pray for half an hour before the Sunday School (8:30 am Sun. morning.)  You may request prayer support at: prayer@wsec-indy.org .

COME JOIN OUR MANY ACTIVITIES

WEEKLY CORPORATE PRAYER – When we pray together in the name of Christ, there is no limit to what God might achieve as an answer.  Pastor Crane has set aside Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm as a time for the faithful to join together and exclusively pray together in the church.  Jesus said “God’s house is a house of prayer”. What can be more fitting that to use it that way?

MEN'S FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST – Monthly breakfast meetings devoted to prayer, praise in song, sharing of testimonies, and challenging speakers. Meets the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 AM in the Church’s small basement.  You may request an e-mail reminder for these breakfasts by clicking here.

LADIES PRAYER BREAKFAST - Meets monthly on the second Saturday in homes at 8:30 AM. A time of sharing, prayer, and fellowship.

SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY - Meets Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Church Parlor with Natalie Crane and Ann Beck for the women, and in the Church Basement with Pastor Doug Crane for the men. For more specific information please click the Study Ops. Navigation Button.

BIBLE STUDY LUNCHEON - meets Fridays at 12:00 Noon at the MCL Cafeteria at 10th Street and Arlington Ave.  After dining together, and an intercessory prayer opportunity, Rev. Barnes interprets a portion (usually a Chapter) of the Bible.  This usually wraps up around 1:30 pm. For more specific information please click theStudy Ops. Navigation Button.
